Sturton By Stow is a state run Primary School. We were asked to look at all areas of the school, with the aim of reducing energy consumption installing required Emergency fittings and improving light quality. The entire School was refitted with our Designer Style energy efficient LED products.

Key Targets:
• Reduction of energy usage
• Improvement of light quality
• Payback of 5 years or less (for Salix Compliance)
• No disruption to day to day running of the school
• Install where needed Emergency fittings
In the classrooms and corridors the existing light fittings were either too old or not in the best possible location for maximum light. This enabled use of our New LED fixed ceiling baton lights. The existing fittings were removed and replaced with brand new LED light units and where required we fitted Emergency fittings and test switches.

In all WC’s we used our New Intelligent Sensor lights to replace the existing 2D fittings. These maximise efficiency by only using the power needed to boost ambient light levels, or to illuminate when occupancy is detected. The improvement in light quality was significant. The 2D sensor lights were also installed in all corridors around improved the light levels.

Within the library and IT room we removed a number of recessed lights and replaced with our LED Grill Panels. This enabled us to reduce the number of fittings and increase light output drastically.

The installation took place over the half term break and was handed back to the school complete before the children returned to school.
