Deepings St James Primary School is a state run Primary School. We were asked to look at all areas of the school, with the aim of reducing energy consumption and improving light quality. The entire School was refitted with energy efficient LED products.

Key Targets:
• Reduction of energy usage
• Improvement of light quality
• Payback of 5 years or less (for Salix Compliance)
• No disruption to day to day running of the school
In the classrooms and corridors the existing light fittings were too old to be replaced with retro tubes; therefore we swapped out all light fittings and replaced with brand new LED light fitting. We used a combination of our LED Grill Panels and our new LED fixed ceiling baton lights. Within the 2 school halls we used our retro tubes and replaced end caps where needed.

In all WC's we used our New Intelligent Sensor lights to replace the existing 2D fittings. These maximise efficiency by only using the power needed to boost ambient light levels, or to illuminate when occupancy is detected. The improvement in light quality was significant.

The installation took place over the half term break and was handed back to the school complete before the children returned to school. Therefore there was no disruption to activities at school.
